We’re also working with folks from the gaming community to set even more special programming, keep an eye out on our Facebook page and the newsletter (you have signed up for the newsletter, right?). Enter the casino property from Valencia Rd. and follow signs to the garage. Park there for free, enter the lobby, and the conference center is on your left.
Saturday August 15th: RinCon Redux
This is our last game day before the convention in October, so we figured we’d make it count!
If you weren’t able to get a seat at some of the amazing games at RinCon 2025 (2-table Alien RPG, Murder Mystery LARP, blinged-out board games with prizes and table swag), here’s your chance. Click here to reserve your seat at one of the special events!
And of course we’ll have our board game library for you to check out, or bring a game or two of your own that you’ve been wanting to get to the table. There will be raffles all day long with prizes from many of our amazing donors, so bring a little extra $$ to get some tickets. And to top it all off, we’ll be hosting a make ‘n’ take craft activity to make your own custom gaming swag. Suggested donation for entry is $5-10, and all funds support special programming at this year’s RinCon convention in October.

THE DOWNFALL OF POMPEII (premium BG)
The year is AD 79. Pompeii, sitting at the foot of Vesuvius, is at the high point in its development. People come to the city from far and wide to indulge in all that is Pompeii. So far, nobody has dreamed of the danger that will bury all of their dreams under mountains of ash. Who will survive the eruption of Vesuvius unscathed?
NOTE: This is a “Plus Event”, meaning there will be themed treats and spectacle at the table. If you’re a super-serious player, this is *NOT* the game for you.
12:00 – 4:00 PM Lizzie Jayne Took and Mike Pratt, GMs
ALIENS RPG – BRAINS VS. BRAWNS 10 players, 2 tables, 2 GMs
This will be a “bespoke” RPG session featuring phenomenal GMs, exclusive gift bags and snacks for players, and table props/terrain and special A/V effects to set the mood. This game is suitable for new and experienced RPGers alike – all materials provided, plenty of support to learn the system. You’ll be purchasing a ticket for a particular pregenerated character, so feel free to come with any costume or props that will help that character come to life! Alien RPG is a Sci-Fi Horror/Suspense RPG based on the movie franchise. We will be running the new Alien Evolved system. I can’t lie to you about your chances, but… you have our sympathies. Mike A. Pratt (MAP Boardgames) and Lizzy Jayne Took (totally my real name) have been running 2-table games of Alien since 2020.
The colony on Solano-V has extensive science labs. They are expecting a special shipment; but half the research team has gone missing during a survey and the other half got a package they weren’t expecting.
Brains: A team of scientists at the top of their field, with top secret knowledge on the real mission of the settlement. Will they keep the secrets or be undone by them?
Brawns: The security team mounts a rescue of a missing research team. Will they find them, or will they need their own rescue?

Pirates of the High Teas (premium BG)
The brainchild of 2024 RinCon special guest Emily Vincent (Pink Hawk Games), Pirates of the High Teas is a whimsical set collection game in which players are pirates competing to win their Captain’s treasure by serving the most delicious afternoon tea. Players collect and match dishes with tea cards to serve the Captain a perfect meal. This premium session will feature table favors and snacks, as well as a prize for the pirate who accumulates the most doubloons!
2:30 – 4:30 PM Maren Silver, game host
Tea Witches (premium BG)
This year’s Teaquinox Faire is heating up, and as a contestant, you have four days to prove to the world that your kettle has the mettle to win! In Tea Witches, tea vendors from across the land must summon and serve lines of witches in order to gain their loyalty, all while sending out magical TeaPups to entice Celebri-Teas and find ways to further enhance their prestige. By growing their loyal fan base, upgrading their hut to maximize service, and collecting all the right tips and toppings they can prove that their tea reigns supreme. This premium session will feature table favors and snacks, as well as a prize for the player whose brews garner the most prestige!

LARP: LIGHTS OUT IN NEO CITY – A CYBERPUNK MURDER MYSTERY EVENT
Amid the towering skyscrapers, night is held at bay by the neon glow of a sleepless city were every sign, street and edifice glitters like an electronic illuminated assault of your senses. The shining splendor of the city built upon the decaying ruins of its abandoned past. A city ruled by a ruthless megacorporation and those who seek to bring it down. You can be a member of an elite cyber gang and find who committed the murder of another programmer! You and the other hacker gangs will uncover who had the motive, means, and opportunity to kill a fellow computer jockey. Role play is encouraged but not required. There will be swag for all the participants and prizes for the winners. Join up, jack in, and hack the city! You’ll be purchasing a ticket for a particular pregenerated character, so feel free to come with any costume or props that will help that character come to life!
