Where to Park

Parking at the Tucson Convention Center

There is a lot going on in Tucson! Our friends at Tucson Meet Yourself will be holding thier 36th annual street festival and we expect the northern downtown parking garages to fill up quickly. Also, the annual SAHBA Home Show will be held in other parts of the Tucson Convention Center.

We advise our attendees to head to the RinCon Gaming Convention early to get a parking space near the TCC. With over 1200 metered spaces, 10,500 lot spaces, and 4115 parking garage spaces in the downtown area, there are a lot of options for parking in the downtown area. We've spotlighted a few areas convenient to the TCC to recommend.

1. Tucson Convention Center Parking Lots provide all day parking for $6. Note that the SABSA Home Show will also be at the TCC and these two lots may fill up quickly. Access these lots from Church Street, just south of the brightly-colored La Placita Village.

2. La Placita Garage has 520 spaces, about half the capacity of the TCC lots. On Saturday and Sunday, there is a $5 flat fee per day. Friday, the first hour of parking is $2 and goes up incrementally to a maximum of $5 for the entire day.

3. City/State Garage at 498 W. Congress Street is convenient to the TCC. After parking, head east on Congress to the pedestrian overpass bridge. Turn right and head over the bridge to La Placita Village and through it to the TCC grounds. City/State Garage has 1123 spots and is free all day on Saturday and Sunday. On Friday, the first hour of parking is free and goes up incrementally to a maximum of $8 for the entire day.

4. Street Parking in downtown Tucson is absolutely free after 5pm on Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday. If you see an open parking spot with a meter after 5pm on Friday, it's free to park. On the above map, the purple metered parking have a 30 minute limit; parking indicated in maroon have a two hour maximum limit. (Which you can pretty much ignore after 5pm on Friday.)

5. Stone Avenue Parking Lots, just one block east of the convention center, will have available street parking. These lots are run by various companies and charge different rates per hour or per day. When heading to Stone Avenue, remember that it is a one way street, southbound.

6. Take the Trolley on Saturday and Sunday! The Old Pueblo Trolley recently opened downtown service, just in time for RinCon! Park at the University of Arizona and take the trolley downtown. Both the Tyndall Garage at Euclid and 4th Street and Main Gate Garage at Euclid and 2nd Street are a block away from the University Street stop. Just catch a ride for $1 down to the downtown terminus, just a few blocks from the TCC. The parking garages by the University of Arizona campus are free on the weekends, unless a special event is scheduled on campus. Saturday, the trolley runs from noon until midnight and only costs one dollar, one way. Sunday, from noon until six, it's just a quarter to ride.
